We have an incredible team of enthusiastic and committed individuals who strive to create a positive, happy and memorable experience for all our visitors. As with any business, the team who build and maintain the company are as important to us as the ideas and ethos that forged it in the first place.
Come and meet the people who help make us who we are.
Known to many in Cardigan from her teaching days at Ysgol Uwchradd Aberteifi, Debbie has lived and worked in Cardigan for 30 years. She left teaching in 2003 to establish The Beach Hut Cafe in Llangrannog where she enjoyed a successful 10 years growing the business. She went on to join the management team at The Cliff Hotel, helping to oversee major refurbishment work there before focussing on the role of wedding co-ordinator. Her passion for people and the community brought her to Stiwdio 3 where the prospect of creating something special on the High Street has become a reality!
‘Suzi Stitch’ spent a lot of her working life in knitwear design in the Midlands, followed by running her own business locally in embroidery & wedding dress design. This was followed by ten-year stint in higher education lecturing in textiles at Carmarthen College. In 2015 she launched Make it in Wales, collaborating with over 20 Welsh makers to deliver top class, quality workshops at venues throughout West Wales. This latest venture brings these workshops to the Stiwdio3 where Suzi can be found in her first floor space teaching people how to stitch creatively and working to develop a range of new courses to encourage greater participation in crafting.
Maggie has worked with Make it in Wales for the last 3 years. She is the backbone to all our administrative tasks and is organised, efficient and keeps the team in order! A graduate from Birmingham School of Jewellery, Maggie also runs the Make it in Wales silver ring making courses. Dedicated mother to the ‘Gorgeous Gruff’, Maggie works part time with us and we would be lost without her!
Beth is the newest recruit to our team. Her experience in retail and enthusiasm for the arts bring a new dimension to the shop and exhibition space at Stiwdio3. Beth will oversee the expansion of our retail area and co-ordinate exhibitions in the gallery with work by local artists.
David Coates has worked with Debbie for a number of years as an award winning chef creating memorable wedding feasts! After two years at Cardigan Castle where he ran the superb 1176 restaurant, he left to focus on event catering. He has now come on board at Stiwdio 3 to help create our stunning menu. His magical touches bring all of our dishes to life and he leads a team of passionate cooks, creating great food and one hell of a mess! It’s a good job we all adore him. In his spare time he runs grueling triathlons, competes in awesome ‘Ironman’ competitions and tries very hard to be funny!
Food blogger, writer and baker extraordinaire, Vicky North spends two days a week baking incredible cakes in incredible conditions. She is truly a wonder woman and keeps us stocked in scones, cakes and bakes from one week to the next. They look and taste beautiful and we are all in awe of her.
Angela is ‘the glamorous one’. Organised, creative and exceptionally talented in the kitchen, she loves to produce beautiful dishes. Ange works part time in our kitchen and also runs Elbows and Crumbs, working with us on collaborative projects to offer something unique at Stiwdio 3.
Gabrielle, also working part time, brings calm and order to the kitchen. Her natural feel for food and ability to turn her hand to anything makes her a true asset to the team.
Maya is our youngest and newest entry into the kitchen at only sixteen, but already she is showing off her natural talents in the catering field. She has just finished her GCSEs and hopes one day to be an actress. When she isn’t in work or school, Maya is training in and assisting teaching aerial circus performances.
A familiar face to many in Cardigan, Eirlys provides a warm Welsh welcome as front of house supervisor in the cafe. Her experience and love for the job is a real asset to Stiwdio 3 and she runs a tight ship!
Gwil recently joined the team and is our ‘Mister Barista’. He quite simply makes the best coffee! Having a degree in Documentary Photography, he has now also taken on the role of Media and Visual Marketing technician. Charged with creating our new website, he can regularly be seen with his camera capturing all the action in Stiwdio3!
Meet Elena, our ‘Little Miss Sunshine’. Bringing joy and happiness to Stiwdio 3, Elena is also a supervisor and trainer for new recruits. She loves to be organised and keeps us all on our toes!
When we took over Stiwdio3, we inherited Leah with the building! What a diamond she has turned out to be and a real asset to our front of house team. Leah loves nothing better than chatting with customers. Her smile is infectious and she loves a photograph.
Jake joined us in May after recently moving to Wales from Australia. With no hint of the Aussie accent, Jake is a thespian who loves nothing more than quoting sonnets and talking in tongues. We sense that Jake could become quite a unique attraction at Stiwdio 3. Fortunately he is very charming!
Niela, Malli & Stephen
The backbone of any food business are the individuals who clean up after us all. Niela has been our regular Saturday help since we opened and we look forward to here progressing up the ladder as she takes on more responsibility. Malli is our youngest team member, who we took on following her work experience with us, as she was just too good to let go. Last but not least, Stephen is simply a machine, keeping on top of the dishes and always on hand to help out. These three are our secret weapons.
